Researchers studied the natural structure of the Patase enzyme and trained the model to generate its mutations that quickly work at low temperatures.
“When considering approaches for waste disposal, a enzyme is needed, which can work in natural conditions at ambient temperatures,” said the co -author of Hal Alper research.
As a result, the algorithm deduced the element called Fast-Petase, which can destroy plastic in 24 hours at a temperature of 30 to 50 degrees Celsius.
According to scientists, the production and use of the enzyme can be brought to the industrial level by providing an affordable method for processing plastic waste https://gagarin.news/news/how-does-inflation-in-the-u-s-affect-bitcoin/ . They added that the biological approach consumes less energy and is more environmentally friendly than modern large -scale methods of disposal of polyethylene.
“This work really demonstrates the force of unification of various disciplines, from synthetic biology to chemical mechanical engineering and artificial intelligence,” added Endrye Ellington Texas at Austine, a professor of synthetic biology of the University of Texas.
Recall that in January, American scientists reported the beginning of the development of an algorithm that predicts floods in the Gulf of Mexico.
In October 2021, researchers at the University of Bristol visited the Chernobyl nuclear power plant to train robots to interact with radioactive waste.
