Media: The court in the USA ordered ex-Twitter to transfer data to Ilon Mask

The court partially satisfied the request of the American billionaire Ilon Mask to transfer data from Twitter employees on the work of the social network. It is reported by Business Insider with reference to the sources familiar with the situation.

The publication reports that the corresponding application was secretly filed last week. Judge Kathleen McCormic ordered Twitter to provide data that the former head of the development department Kaivon Bakepur possessed.

The latter supposedly had access to information and documents regarding the analysis of bots in the social network.

According to the publication, Ilona Mask lawyers submitted another request with the request to provide Twitter additional documents on statistics on the users of the platform and on the methods of collecting and processing data.

Kaivon Bakepur began Twitter in 2018. Then the social network was headed by Jack Dorsie. In May of this year, Bakepur left the company.

In April 2022, the billionaire offered to buy Twitter at a price of $ 54.2 per share. The leadership of the social network agreed with the conditions.

However, in May, Musk suspended the process after messages about the overestimation of the indicators of the audience of the social network. In turn, Twitter shareholders filed a lawsuit due to the “chaotic process” of the company’s absorption, accusing the head of Tesla of manipulating the market.

In July, Musk announced the termination of the agreement on the acquisition of the social network. The company filed a lawsuit against him, demanding to fulfill his obligations and complete the purchase.

On July 29, the billionaire filed a counterclaim, there is no document yet in the public domain. At the same time, he stated that he was ready to conclude a deal on the initial conditions if Twitter reveals the method of sampling 100 accounts and a way to confirm their authenticity.

Recently, Twitter lawyers called the Binance cryptocurrency exchange division due to funding for the absorption of social networks by Ilon Mask. The agenda was also received by financial consultants, investors and potential businessman creditors.
