Hackers arranged a fake distribution of XRP on behalf of the “daughter” of PWC in Venezuela
Attackers hacked the Twitter account of the audit company PwC Venezuela to promote fake distribution XRP on behalf of CEO Ripple Brad Garlinghaus.
Eight hours after the administration’s incident, it was possible to restore access to the page and delete phishing links.
According to The Block, during which time, hackers posted 14 similar materials.
At the time of writing, the last post dates from September 2. The account has 37.1 thousand subscribers.
Recall that in April 2020, Ripple and Garlinghaus filed a lawsuit against YouTube. They accused the platform of damaging the reputation due to inaction in relation to fraudsters promoting fake distributions of XRP tokens on their behalf.
Garlinghaus recently denied the statements of the online publication of Cryptoleks about the alleged conspiracy between him and the Law Frontman Law Firm on the financing of the campaign to combat competitors.
