The Government of Great Britain announced plans to make the country a global cryptocenter

The Ministry of Digital Technology, Culture, Media and Sports of Great Britain intends to turn the country and its capital London into “Cryptocenter”. This was stated by the head of the department Chris Filp, writes Bloomberg.

At the same time, the authorities are going to carefully work out the issues of a possible laundering of funds or bypassing sanctions with the help of cryptocurrencies, he emphasized.

The treasury reported on the intention to include the regulation of stablecoins, with the exception of algorithmic, as a payment mechanism in the bill on financial services and markets.

Later, the department submitted a document for public discussion, introducing additional measures to protect against the collapse of “stable coins”.
