BNB Chain will conduct a hard fork after hacking $ 100 million

The BNB Chain team implements the network updating as an “urgent correction” after hacking the BSC Token Hub cross-bridge by $ 100 million.

Harder Moran will occur in a mainnet on the block #22 107 423, in the oxench – on #23 603 940.

The update is designed to restore the internal cross-infrastructure between the BNB Beacon Chain blockchain and the BNB Smart Chain consensus level. The update includes:

• correction of the vulnerability of the Chesh IAVL check;
• Introduction of the block header in checking the CrossChain contract sequence;
• The implementation of the “White List” of candidates for network relayers.

Binance Bitcoin-Birzha announced the suspension of deposits and removing funds in BEP20 tokens. Asset trading on the platform will not affect the update.

The unknown on October 6 hacked BSC token Hub and stole digital assets in the amount of $ 544 million, but managed to withdraw only $ 100 million. The BNB Chain team suspended the network, resuming it in a few hours.
