Before the Europol, Andresen-Read worked in the National Police of the Netherlands and specialized in the darknet. In particular, he coordinated the liquidation of the Hansa Market and Alphabay markets together with colleagues around the world.
According to the report, the new employee will focus on conducting internal and external investigations to identify attackers on Binance platforms. His duties also include Bitcoin mining protecting user funds and “active support of law enforcement agencies”.
Over the past few months, financial regulators of several countries, including the UK, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa and a number of others, have issued warnings for investors regarding the activities of the exchange.
Against this background of CEO Binance, Chanpen Zhao published an open letter in which he spoke about the plans of the exchange to ensure regulatory compliance and customer protection.
In August, Binance introduced the obligatory verification of users and invited the former investigator of the US Treasury Breecle Greg Monakhan to the post of employee to combat money laundering.
Recall that in September, Zhao announced the refusal of Binance from a “decentralized” model and transformation into a licensed enterprise with a centralized business.
