According to FIDO, existing authentication methods are vulnerable. Many users re -use the same password to enter various services, noted in the alliance.
“This can lead to the seizure of accounts, data leaks and even the theft of personal information,” the FIDO statement said.
The non -parallel input will allow users:
- automatically gain access to accounting data for entering FIDO on its devices, even on new ones, without the need to re -register each account;
- Use the authentication of FIDO on a mobile device for authorization in the application or on the website on https://gagarin.news/ru/news/crypto-wallet-lg-electronics-to-release-a-hedera-based-application/ a neighboring device, regardless of the browser and OS.
“Users will enter the system, performing the same action that they take to unlock their gadgets, such as confirming a fingerprint, recognition of faces or input of the PIN code,” the press release said.
The alliance added that this method can prevent successful phishing attacks that lure passwords.
Apple, Google and Microsoft plan to introduce a safe entrance to their platforms during 2023.
Earlier, representatives of FIDO reported that at least 25% of users use biometric authentication methods in online services.
Recall that in June 2021, Apple introduced Passkeys technology for registration on various sites without using passwords.
